My First Market Painting

I’ve been painting a street market we visited in Xian, China, last year. I enjoy visiting markets at home and when I travel, and I have lots of market photos that I’d like to paint. The Xian market is the most complicated painting I’ve ever done–lots of details, a long depth to represent, and people (!)–the first time I’ve ever painted figures. I’m almost finished. Here are photos I’ve taken of my progress each week.

I am so glad you’ve documented your progress with this complicated and difficult painting. Your patience and care as well as good drawing skills are really shining through here. Can’t wait to see it completed!
