Watercolor and Pastel Artists at CHAW
Here are some more samples of the work that members of the Wednesday Studio are doing this summer.
Lynne Mallonee Schlimm has been working on sketches of the animals that will be portrayed in a storybook that she and Anne Fields are collaborating on. That’s all I’ll give you now, but these darling watercolors of five animals are previews of what a fun book this will be.
Eileen Leahy again took sketchpad in hand while she was at “the lake” in New Hampshire. Because it reminds me of my own childhood summers at “the lake” in Michigan, this first one of the boat is my favorite. Isn’t it funny how we always refer to it as “the lake” when it is a place we go back to repeatedly? At least I do.
These are two versions of a sketch Eileen drew of sunglasses; after doing it in pencil, she colored it with Inktense watercolor pencils.
Everything around us is fodder for the sketchbook, as Eileen has shown in these pencil sketches of the boat cleat and some sunflowers.
I finally got out my watercolors and finished a painting I had been working on in the Wednesday Studio last spring:
That’s all, folks!
