But there are also the ravens!
I just published the blog post about Ellen’s new show at the Rockville gallery Artists and Makers Studio 2, but I left out a piece in the show that is one of my favorites! So sorry!
This piece is titled An Unkindness of Ravens. It turns out that “unkindness” is the term for a group of ravens, just as “herd” is a group of cows and “school” is a group of fish. Some animal groups have more than one option. Zebras, for instance, can be a herd (the most common term), or a cohort, a dazzle, or a zeal. (I am not making this up.)
Anyway, Ellen’s drawing of the ravens is really delightful, and I regret that I forgot to include it in the last post about the show.
