THE WEDNESDAY STUDIO

Watercolor and Pastel Artists at CHAW

CHAW Student Show gives us all a chance to show our stuff

You are all invited to attend the reception of the Student Show this Saturday, June 10.

Each adult in an art class at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop may submit one piece in the Student Show. A professional artist is chosen to judge the works, and it’s always an exciting evening when the judge announces his or her choices and discusses the art. That will happen this Saturday, June 10, 5 to 7 pm at the CHAW gallery, 545 7th Street SE, in DC.

This year’s show has 30 pieces, which were hung in the gallery yesterday. I saw them and think they are awesome!

Here are the submissions from the Wednesday Studio:

Kay Elsasser: Maine Lake. Watercolor.
Martha Pope: Gina’s Garden. Colored pencil and ink.
Anne Shields: Frances the Fierce. Pastel.
Carolyn Rondthaler: Great Blue Heron III. Watercolor.
Eileen Leahy: Green Heron. Colored pencil on toned paper.
Tara Hamilton. Flowers for Gina. Watercolor.
Vince Iannacchione: Masquerade. Colored pencil and watercolor.
Lynne Mallonee Schlimm: Homage to Gina. Watercolor.
Marian Wiseman: Saginaw River Lighthouse. Watercolor.
