This morning some of us in the Wednesday Studio helped our great teacher, Ellen Cornett, hang the art for this spring’s Adult Student. We call it “hanging the show,” which always seems an odd expression to me.
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop Student Show reception will be this Saturday, June 8, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. You are all welcome. The judge, Kirsten Nelson, will announce her selections for show winners at that time. CHAW is at 545 7th Street SE. Near Eastern Market Metro.
I should mention that Ellen herself is in charge of the whole thing. In fact, she is the education department chair at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. She teaches, she organizes the Student Show twice a year, she . . . oh, never mind. She’s awesome.
Here are a few pics of some of us hanging the show. Unfortunately, I’m not in the photos, even though I was wearing a very cute dress. After the photos below, there are photos of Wednesday Studio submissions in the show.
