It’s June, and birds are busting out all over

Here are the wonderful birds that artists submitted for June Draw-a-Bird Day:

Tara Hamilton: Bluebird. Watercolor.
Carolyn Rondthaler: Heron. Watercolor. [From a photograph by Clari Jo on Facebook’s “Birds Photography.”]
Lynne Mallonnee Schlimm: Indigo Bunting. Watercolor.
Susan Burdick: Barn Owl. White cardboard box and hot glue.
Eileen Leahy: Northern Flicker. Colored pencil on toned paper.
Jim Eichenberger: Armenia’s White Stork. Watercolor and pencil. [Jim writes, “While the folklore of storks delivering babies to homes dates back to ancient Greece and Egyptian mythology, what remains true today is their unique nesting behavior in proximity to humans. This is particularly true in the landlocked country of Armenia, where the white stork is a cultural icon. Specifically, Armenians view the storks as a symbol of prosperity, luck, and fertility.”]
Judith Davis: Snowy Egret. Photography.
Judith Davis: Eastern Bluebird with No Trespassing Sign. Photography.
Tom Eichenberger: Starling. Acrylic and markers on glitter paper.
Anne Shields: Ruby-Crowned Kinglet. Pastel.
Kay Elsasser: Scarlet Tanager. Watercolor pencil.
Marian Wiseman: Black-Capped Chickadee. Watercolor. [State bird of Maine and Massachusetts.]
