I recently learned that the 8th of every month is Draw-a-Bird day. I don’t know who designated it as such, but I thought “What a great idea!” and invited my fellow Wednesday Studio artists to, you guessed it, draw a bird on the 8th of the month. And to send their work to me to post on the blog.
The result is that Ellen and Tara created lovely birds and sent them to me:
Tara Hamilton: Bird in Surf. iPad.
Ellen Cornett: Bird. Watercolor and ink.
Then I decided to sneak in two additional birds that do not technically qualify for the Draw-a-Bird day blog post, as they were in fact not created on Draw-a-Bird day, but I decided what the hell, a bird is a bird, and also, one of them is mine and I’m making up the rules.
Eileen Leahy: Rubber Chicken in the Kitchen. Pencil, ink, and Inktense watercolor pencils.
Marian Wiseman: Dude the Cockatiel. Watercolor.

Oops, I was saving mine for the 8th. I think I left it in the mountain house. Hoping to see you tomorrow!

Love the birds. I spent a lot of time drawing crows for a children’s book but crows aren’t a lot of fun to draw. Will try more colorful one like my fellow Wednesday Studioists.
