Right now the Brandywine River Museum, not far from Philadelphia, has a wonderful retrospective of Andrew Wyeth works.
The museum is built on the 18-acre site where N.C Wyeth built his home and studio and has a significant collection of works by all three Wyeths. But it has worked with the Seattle Art Museum to put together this exhibit of more than 100 of Andrew’s works in honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
“Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect” will run through September 17. If you get a chance, do go see it. The museum is open 7 days a week.
Just to whet your taste, here are three paintings from the exhibit:
Andrew Wyeth: Pentecost, tempura on panel.
Andrew Wyeth: Chester County, dry brush watercolor.
Andrew Wyeth: Siri, tempura on panel.
Wow. Those are great. We will try to get there, for sure.
