THE WEDNESDAY STUDIO

Watercolor and Pastel Artists at CHAW

Here are works from Wednesday Studio artists

These works of art demonstrate the diversity and talent of Wednesday Studio members.

Wan Lee: Long Prairie Home. Watercolor. [Long Prairie is a small town in Minnesota, where Wan saw this farm.]
Tara Hamilton: Monumental Clouds. Watercolor. [Ed. note: Regarding this work and the next two, Tara said that even though she has lived in DC her entire life, before now she has never painted any of the monuments. But a friend of hers took these photos, and Tara was inspired to paint them. I love the perspective, making the monuments small, with the landscape and sky dominating.]
Tara Hamilton: Jeffersonian Clouds. Watercolor.
Tara Hamilton: Rainbow Clouds. Watercolor.
Tamora Ilasat: Child Blazing Her Way in the Sand. Photography. [This work one second place in the October challenge of the Capitol Hill Art League, “Trailblazers.”
Martha Pope: Lewis and Clark Slept Here. Pastel on sanded paper. [This work was awarded 3rd place in the Capitol Hill Art League’s October monthly challenge, “Trailblazers.”]
Carolyn Rondthaler: Janis Joplin. Mixed media.

Lynne Mallonee Schlimm: Keys. Pencil on bristol board.
