Friday the 13th was not unlucky in the least. Iona hosted a Meet the Artists reception that pretty much had it all: food, wine, artists, guests, and art.
People really enjoyed our chicken and rooster paintings, which were all on display in one room:
Proof of a great reception, visitors and artists mingled, laughed, chatted, and looked at art:
Iona curator Patricia Dubroof gathered everyone to introduce the Wednesday Studio teacher, Ellen Cornett, who curated this show. Ellen then introduced each artist.
Everyone got to hear about Iona’s mission and services from executive director Sally White, and CHAW’s co-executive director Hannah Blumenfeld spoke about how Iona and CHAW share similar missions in serving their community.
If you get a chance, stop by Iona and see the show, which runs through November 15 at 4125 Albemarle Street, NW. Iona is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.

It was such a wonderful event. And I am blown away by the stunning work the class has produced for this show.
