The Wednesday Studio is once again well represented in a show sponsored by the Capitol Hill Art League. What’s more, Wednesday Studio member Nancy Arbuthnot took second place!
For the show, titled “Joie de Vivre,” CHAL invited its members to submit “exuberant artwork” that invokes energy, inspires enthusiasm, causes cheerfulness, and delivers joy! Here are the Wednesday Studio members’ works in the “Joie de Vivre” show:
Nancy Arbuthnot: Postcards from the Border. Watercolor and ink. Nancy painted 16 postcards, each inscribed with a poem, and tacked them to two picket “fences.” Below are close-ups of three of the postcards.
