March birds arrive to cheer up the halt and the lame

This month several submissions for Draw-a-Bird Day are sporting purple casts. This was a huge and delightful surprise to me, as I, too, have had a purple cast on my leg.

Here are all of the birds, whether in casts or not.

Anne Shields: Marian Coopers Hawk–A Fierce Bird. Pastel.
Tara Hamilton: Don’t Mess with Marian. Watercolor.
Eileen Leahy: Mandarin Duck. Vine charcoal.
Fran Tomlinson: Marian Wiseduck. Pastel.
Linda Norton: Marian Audubon Warbler. Colored pencil.
Linda Andreatta: Gull Halfway through Recovery. Charcoal and pastel.
Vince Iannacchione: With Apologies to Prince Valiant. Watercolor.
Ellen Cornett: Sturnis Marianis. Watercolor and ink.
Carolyn Rondthaler: Quail Marian. Watercolor. [Carolyn gave this quail painting a literal purple cast, after submitting the original California Quail watercolor, below.]
Carolyn Rondthaler: California Quail. Watercolor.
Martha Pope: Marian Ready to Fly. Pastel.
Nancy Arbuthnot: Heron. Multimedia collage.
Elizabeth Carter: Toucan. Watercolor markers.
Tom Eichenberger: Cranky Casted Cuckoo. Colored pencil.
Marian Wiseman: Fox Sparrow. 4B pencil.

What fun, Marian—all those purple casts. But not so fun in the day to day reality.

Note: I turned the router off and there it was—a internet connection back on duty.
