October Draw-a-Bird Day

I love the 10 birds that flew in. Maybe they are migrating!

As a reminder to all our blog followers, you are invited to submit a bird for the DAB-Day post each month. It is in the only blog post that features artists outside the Wednesday Studio. A photo of your bird is due by midnight of the 8th each month. (DAB-Day is an international event on the 8th). Email your bird to wednesday.studio.artists@gmail.com.

Tara Hamilton: Hummingbird. Colored pencil.
Jim Eichenberger: Brown Pelican [state bird of Louisiana]. Tempera, watercolor, pencil, white china marker, and pen. Jim writes that brown pelicans are the only species to dive into the water from 30 feet above to capture prey. After catching the prey and a lot of water, they tip their bill downward to drain the water before swallowing the fish.
Anne Shields: Black-Winged Bishop. Colored pencil.
Carolyn Rondthaler: Hummingbird. Watercolor.
Tom Eichenberger: Black-Crowned Night Heron. Colored pencil and graphite.
Susan Burdick: Stellar’s Jay. Digital watercolor and colored pencil in Adobe Fresco app.
