Congratulations to Carolyn Rondthaler and Karen Van Allen for having works chosen for the Capitol Hill Art League exhibit “Parallax.” And a special shout out to Carolyn, whose watercolor “Finding my Way” won second place!
Here is what CHAL reported as the meaning of the word “parallax”: the apparent displacement or the difference in apparent direction of an object as seen from two different points not on a straight line with the object especially: the angular difference in direction of a celestial body as measured from two points on the earth’s orbit. I’ve read it, several times, and cannot say I have any idea what it means.
The exhibit is on display through November 4 at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th Street SW. You can view photos of all of the works in the show at this link: Parallax. The juror was Carolina Mayorga.
