THE WEDNESDAY STUDIO

Watercolor and Pastel Artists at CHAW

Trying out colored pencil in the Wednesday Studio

As you know, pastels and watercolors are the media that the Wednesday Studio artists use most of the time. But our teacher and leader, Ellen Cornett, has fairly recently been creating truly stunning art using colored pencil. We asked her to give us a lesson in this medium, and here is what we did.

The first image is the photograph we all used last week as the model to draw. Following the photo are our renderings of Mr. Squirrel.

Anne Shields: Samantha. Colored pencil.
Martha Pope: Lucille. Colored pencil.
Wan Lee. Jordan. Colored pencil.
Vince Iannacchione: RJS. Colored pencil.
Tara Hamilton: Mr. Pantone. Watercolor pencil and colored pencil.
Kay Elsasser: George. Colored pencil.
Eileen Leahy: Sadie. Colored pencil.
Carolyn Rondthaler: Chester. Watercolor pencil.
Ellen Cornett: Stella. Colored pencil.
Marian Wiseman: Henrietta. Colored pencil.
