Anne Shields scores big at Chevy Chase Art Walk
Congratulations to Wednesday Studio member Anne Shields for selling 18 paintings at the third annual Chevy Chase Art Walk. The weekend Art Walk featured art of 67 members of CH/ART, who displayed their work at their homes. Artists joined up at 22 different stops on the walk.
To participate in the Art Walk, Anne decided to frame a “bunch of birds” she had on hand because of her regular participation in the Wednesday Studio’s monthly Draw-a-Bird Day. She put her bird paintings in frames she had “lying around the house” and took them on Saturday to the Art Walk. The next morning she wrote me, “I sold six birds yesterday! Can you believe it? I’m madly trying to frame more to take today!”
It’s a good thing she did frame more birds, because in all she sold 14 birds and four other pastels she had in the show. “I could have sold more if I had had them,” she said.
