This is the Wednesday Studio blog, but many readers, and some contributors, don’t know what the Wednesday Studio is. It’s a group of artists who meet weekly at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop in DC to make art and learn from each other. Although it didn’t have that name until 2014, the group started in the late 1990s, as an advanced watercolor class taught by Gina Clapp.
The Wednesday Studio currently has 13 members, led by CHAW faculty member Ellen Cornett. All media are used, not just watercolor. A few have been meeting on Wednesday mornings from the beginning. I feel almost like a newcomer, not joining until 2012, but several have joined since then.
Here’s who we are, in alphabetical order. [Most of us have online profiles; if the caption is blue, you can click on it to read the bio.]

Thank you for the origin story for the group and the introduction to the members. What a wonderful sanctuary for creativity you all have. Thank you for sharing your art here ❤
