Wan Lee captures Venice sight beautifully

Wan has recently completed a watercolor using the pouring technique. Here are some glimpses of the process and then the final version.

Wan Lee Venice with sky poured

After coming home from a trip to Italy, Wan used a photograph from his trip for a painting of gondolas with the Venice skyline and sunset in the background. Once the drawing was done, Wan masked the bottom half and poured different colors of paint to make the sky.

In a second step, Wan poured deeper colors of paint to show the sky reflected in the water. The boats were masked to keep them clear for painting individually later.

Here is the stunning result. Wan Lee: Venetian Sunset. Watercolor.
